The Arcade

Beautifully figured mahogany, inlaid with black ebony, mother of pearl and celluloid, and hand rubbed to a dull finish.

This table is made in super type Jumbo construction and is offered where the maximum of solidity and rigidity is wanted in a mahogany table of striking design. The sides are made of heavy 5 ply compound construction reinforced with veneered blocks placed at intervals on the inside of table. Top molding made 8½ in. x 3 3/8 in, of built-up specially selected and kiln dried lumber. Legs made of super solid double veneered stock, solidly glued together and reinforced with glue blocks in all corners. Whole table is faced with the very best highly figured mahogany veneer. Table made absolutely rigid by fastening sides and legs together with maple dowels and heavy iron bolts and braced with double cross stretchers, which give to the whole frame perfect rigidity and add extra bearing surface for the slate. This table represents the highest attainment in the art of scientific woodworking, both as to perfection in construction and attractiveness in design and finish.

The cushion rails of the Arcade table are made up with what is known as a 3 ply body, consisting of three layers of woods of alternating grain glued together to insure the rails against climatic changes. The center-piece of these plies is hard maple, the most suitable wood to hold the cushion bolts firmly in place. The top of the rails is covered with a rail cap of compound construction faced with solid rosewood. The rails are securely fastened to the table by invisible cushion bolts. These bolts are covered by blind cushion rail facing which is built up of 5 ply compound construction and faced with the finest grade highly figured mahogany veneer inlaid with black ebony, celluloid and mother of pearl.

The slate bed consists three pieces of the best quality slate, regulation size 1 inch thick, with all joints secured by brass dowels and sockets. It has no screw holes on the playing surface. If desired, 1½ inch slate can be furnished.

The Arcade table can he furnished with any style Monarch perfect angle cushion.

The pocket irons are our No 6 style, which are countersunk in the ends of the cushion rails by means of brass sockets.
